About Me.
My first recollection of "home" was Mr. Moxley's farm just outside Dayton, Ohio. My parents were essentially sharecroppers in the North. The farm had pigs, and breeding bulls, a big tractor and cornfields. My father had been awarded a silver star and a purple heart during WWII and my mother graduated from high school at 16. They believed in church and they believed in education and they believed that raising their family somewhere other than in the South in the 50's was essential. They were right, me and my brothers were a handful.
Education

Phillips Exeter Academy
At 14 my parents and teachers thought I was the biggest, fastest, smartest, most mature 14 year-old kid in town. So naturally the kid needed to go to prep school. I earned All New England football honors, was All New England (undefeated over three years) in wrestling and received the faculty's award as best student/athlete as a senior.

Stanford University
I studied what I was interested in: economics, math, statistics, astronomy, theater and photography. I played in two Rose Bowls - in 1971 and 1972. I also wrestled and played rugby and lacrosse. I earned my BA in economics and had some of my photos published in the San Francisco Chronicle.

Columbia University
After being accepted into Columbia's joint business/law program, I elected to focus on business. I interned at General Foods and worked on several national TV advertising campaigns. I earned my MBA in finance and marketing.
